How to make text from images
So how exactly do those webmasters make text with flames on them? Well, they make their text out of pictures and images.
The first and easiest way to accomplish this is to use a program that can be purchased at a computer store or online. One example of these programs is Hemera's Photo-Objects 50,000 which allows you to create text from any number of included textures or from an image file that you have on your computer's hard drive.
To do this very quickly you just need to start the program and click on the PhotoFont tab. Once you have the options for a texture, browse through the textures that are available to you and then select add texture. Once you have done so, enter the text that you want to program to create and then you can select between different fonts, styles and sizes to customize the look of your text. Once you have you text looking the way that you like, you just need to select export to and the follow the dialog to save the file to use on your webpage. This will be an image file that you will have to post onto your site in the position that you would like the text to appear.
There are a couple of flaws with this program however. You do not get to decide which part of the image the letters are created from and you can only do one line of text at a time. This means that if you need multiple lines of text, you will have to create a file for each one of them and then display them in the proper order in your webpage.
A much more difficult method of creating text from an image is to use the paint program that comes with Windows. Even though it is harder to do, you will be able to create multiple lines of text and you can easily select from which part of the image you would like the letters to be created.
You will need to start off with an image that you would like to use as the texture or background for the text that you are going to create. To find out the size of pixels that are in the image you can select attributes in the image menu and you will get a window with the information. Once you have finished loading your background image into paint, you will need to open up a second new paint window.
You will want to make sure that the text you create is smaller than the background image that you have. To do this go back to the attributes in the image menu and change the size of the image to match the same number of pixels in your background image.
Now, change the background of the blank paint image to match the background of your webpage so that the image will blend in nicely using the fill with color tool.
Now you are going to want to create the text that you want. To do this, select the text tool on the toolbar and draw a rectangle slightly smaller than the image size in the paint window. Type the message that you would like to create and then use the text toolbar to adjust the size font and type until you have what you are looking for. Be sure to change the color of the text to one that is not going to be in the image you are using.
Now you will need to use the select tool and make a selection around all of the text you would like to create. Once you have done this, select edit and then copy.
Now you are going to want to go back to the other paint window that contains the background or texture image you are using. Paste your copied text into this area and make sure to paste in the transparent mode and right click on the color of your text so that is shows up as transparent instead of the background. At this point, if you would like to move your text to a different position on the background image you can easily do so.
Now you are going to want to use the select tool again to select an area just around the text you have created without getting any of the extra background in it. You are going to want to copy and paste this into another paint window. Be sure to select a small number of pixels for the new paint window before pasting into it to ensure that your final product does not come out any bigger than it needs to be. Save the image and you have successfully created your very own text from an image.
